All the things that I am can barely be nailed down, let alone streamlined. I would start from the very beginning (I’m told it’s a very good place to start), but instead, I will start from the end.
Tigerlily Cottage is an amalgam. My previous blog, As Within along with Twitter represented the culmination of many attempted blogs over the years, including two LiveJournals, a DeadJournal, Blogger (I think there were three), WordPress (hosted on my own site on and off), Thoughts.com, general, topical (knitting, card reading), you name it.
The very first blog, Echoes, was originally a Geocities-hosted site and has incarnated through Blogspot and regular Blogger and my own site, Analae.ca (now released) and was also for a time on Wordpress.com. Begun in 2001, that blog has seen me through a Canada-wide move, a college diploma, three apartments, a marriage, three computers, the beginning of a career, and all of the gains and losses I have racked up in the last near-decade. Sadly I do not have the complete archives of this blog over time, but what I do have is here.
The second blog, Insight, was for my card readings, and had since been absorbed into Echoes, which had since been absorbed into As Within and now the Cottage.
The next blog, Lissa-Crafty, previously Am-Knot, was also absorbed into As Within and subsequently, the Cottage. It was another blog which suffered from its various moves, and all old photos of my illustrious knitting career are presently broken, for which I apologize. One day I may find the time to fix all of those old pictures (if they still exist) and go through and fix the links. However, all newer posts, now including my crafting and costuming (and occasionally still knitting) have working pictures. Pictures are the lifeblood of a crafting blog. What I really, really need to make it work for me is using my digital camera. Working on that.
Tigerlily Cottage is my newest blog. The purpose of was As Within is semi-topical, butl it bled into other things than I intended. Especially when I was going through an emotional time, for example, I had difficulty staying on topic. But the main purpose of the blog was to discuss my progress in developing my intuitive faculties as a card reader and chronicle my progress through such things as the Silva Method (Silva Life System), the Law of Attraction, and other such life-improvement tools. Unfortunately, there is a lot of mental clutter (and hide-and-seek with my inner child) which needs to be fought through in order to ensure my success with these things, and a general journal is the best way for me to sound it all out. In addition to the Silva Method and such things, thoughts about spirituality, card reading, psychism, Wicca and paganism, and other such related ideas tend to show up, as well as who knows what else when I am inspired to take an introspective think-out-loud stance on something. At present, this is my only blog.
I’ve said all this without really telling you much about me, so here I will give the rundown: I am a divorced twenty-something Pagan (an initiated Wiccan but an eclectic Hearthwitch in practice), ex-tribal bellydancer, cartomancer, steampunker, crafter, and law clerk with two cats and not enough time or organization. I love sleep but never get enough of it; my emotions run high (but not hot), I’m a double Libra with Aries rising.
